Gingivitis and Gum Disease Treatment and Care
Gingivitis is a common and mild form of gum disease that causes irritation, redness and swelling of your gingiva, the part of your gum around the base of your teeth. It can be easily prevented by maintaining good oral hygiene, which includes brushing at least twice a day, flossing daily and visiting your dentist every six months.
It’s important to take gingivitis seriously and treat it promptly as it can lead to much more serious gum disease called periodontitis and tooth loss. If you notice any symptoms, including swollen, tender or red gums, gums that bleed easily during flossing, and bad breath, please make an appointment to see us as soon as possible.
